Growing Your Green Thumb
Opened to the
public in 1996, Green Bay Botanical Garden’s 47 acres of
display gardens and natural areas capture the beauty of
Northeastern Wisconsin’s four distinct and wonderful
seasons. Visitors will enjoy outstanding garden architecture
that sets the stage for an all-star performance by plants
specially chosen for their ability to thrive in the upper
mid-west.
A
horticultural and recreational resource to the region, Green
Bay Botanical offers a variety of educational programs to
its members and the community. A year-round calendar of
special events features a wonderful mix of gardening,
cultural, and family activities.
We'll begin
the event with a cocktail hour on the ground floor of the
Visitor's Center overlooking the gardens. We'll then be
taken on a guided tour of these spectacular gardens during a
peak season with a number of plants in full bloom.

Event Review: How
to Work a Room
Nearly
90 young professionals gathered on Tuesday, April 22, 2008
to hear Diane Roundy of Schenck Business Solutions talk
about how to effectively network and work a room. Some
useful tips she provided include:
-Read one newspaper a day. This will give you something in
common to talk about.
-Enter the room with confidence and act as the host, not the
guest.
-Place your nametag on the right hand side.
-If you arrive with friends, split up and find other people
to interact with.
-Approach groups of 3 or more and be open to inviting others
in.
-Introduce yourself, your company and what you do.
-Send thank you notes within 24 hours and include 2 business
cards.

Green
Bay will be hosting the young professionals regional event
in spring of 2009. We are currently looking for volunteers

would like to learn more, contact
