Growing Your Green Thumb
Opened to the
public in 1996, Green Bay Botanical Garden’s 47 acres of
display gardens and natural areas capture the beauty of
Northeastern Wisconsin’s four distinct and wonderful
seasons. Visitors will enjoy outstanding garden architecture
that sets the stage for an all-star performance by plants
specially chosen for their ability to thrive in the upper
mid-west.
A
horticultural and recreational resource to the region, Green
Bay Botanical offers a variety of educational programs to
its members and the community. A year-round calendar of
special events features a wonderful mix of gardening,
cultural, and family activities.
We'll begin
the event with a cocktail hour on the ground floor of the
Visitor's Center overlooking the gardens. We'll then be
taken on a guided tour of these spectacular gardens during a
peak season with a number of plants in full bloom.

World Cafe Event
The program
managers, chairs and vice-chairs of Brown County Teen
Leadership, Current Young Professionals and Leadership Green
Bay have been working together to bring an exciting event to
you that will involve participants from all three programs
in an effort to work more closely with our developing
leadership. We have chosen a program called The World Café.
The World Café is a program that invites participants to
explore an identified topic in an effort to stimulate
conversation about questions that matter. These
conversations link and build on each other as people move
between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new
insights into the questions or issues that are most
important in their life, work, or community. You can learn
more by visiting their web site at
www.theworldcafe.com.
I am extending a special invitation to you to participate
with the chamber's other leadership programs in what will be
an event that will bring clarity to our mission as a
leadership organization.
Click Here to view all of the details. Please accept my
invitation by replying to this email or by contacting Lisa
Schmelzer at
lschmelzer@titletown.org or 593-3411. If you RSVP to
Lisa, please identify with which program you are affiliated.
Your RSVP is requested no later than Friday, May 30, 2008
and space is limited to the first 20 participants of each
program. I look forward to your participation!

Leick
Jaime Leick is a freelance copywriter, operating under the
business name Moving Type. She writes a technology column
for The Business News and is the content editor for a
flexible jobsite called LifeMeetsWork.com. In addition to
local businesses, Leick serves clients in Chicago, Boston,
and Waterbury, Vermont—all thanks to the connective powers
of the internet. She holds an English degree from St.
Norbert College and a master’s in journalism from Marquette
University.
Big into reading programs, Leick co-founded the One Book One
Community Project, co-chairs the Give-A-Kid-A-Book campaign
and organizes Current's Read to Lead program. She also
serves on the board for the Friends of the Brown
County Library, the steering committee for Current, and is a
longtime PALS volunteer. While particularly proud to be
celebrating her 10-year wedding anniversary this summer, she
feels compelled to tell people she was a child bride. She
and her husband share tips for success at diocesan
marriage-prep seminars and one-on-one Focus meetings through
their church. "That never go to bed mad stuff is baloney,"
she says. "If you're still mad, you're still mad. Get some
sleep. Things will look better in the morning."
