Growing Your Green Thumb
Opened to the
public in 1996, Green Bay Botanical Garden’s 47 acres of
display gardens and natural areas capture the beauty of
Northeastern Wisconsin’s four distinct and wonderful
seasons. Visitors will enjoy outstanding garden architecture
that sets the stage for an all-star performance by plants
specially chosen for their ability to thrive in the upper
mid-west.
A
horticultural and recreational resource to the region, Green
Bay Botanical offers a variety of educational programs to
its members and the community. A year-round calendar of
special events features a wonderful mix of gardening,
cultural, and family activities.
We'll begin
the event with a cocktail hour on the ground floor of the
Visitor's Center overlooking the gardens. We'll then be
taken on a guided tour of these spectacular gardens during a
peak season with a number of plants in full bloom.

World Cafe Event
The program
managers, chairs and vice-chairs of Brown County Teen
Leadership, Current Young Professionals and Leadership Green
Bay have been working together to bring an exciting event to
you that will involve participants from all three programs
in an effort to work more closely with our developing
leadership. We have chosen a program called The World Café.
The World Café is a program that invites participants to
explore an identified topic in an effort to stimulate
conversation about questions that matter. These
conversations link and build on each other as people move
between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new
insights into the questions or issues that are most
important in their life, work, or community. You can learn
more by visiting their web site at
www.theworldcafe.com.
I am extending a special invitation to you to participate
with the chamber's other leadership programs in what will be
an event that will bring clarity to our mission as a
leadership organization.
Click Here to view all of the details. Please accept my
invitation by replying to this email or by contacting Lisa
Schmelzer at
lschmelzer@titletown.org or 593-3411. If you RSVP to
Lisa, please identify with which program you are affiliated.
Your RSVP is requested no later than Friday, May 30, 2008
and space is limited to the first 20 participants of each
program. I look forward to your participation!

What's Up Downtown

Dear Young
Professional Leaders:
"What's Up
Downtown" is meant to keep Green Bay area citizens informed
about activities and developments in downtown GB. While big
events like Artstreet, Tall Ships and the 4th of
July are well known and promoted, there are many other
things that sometimes don’t have a budget to widely promote,
or don’t make it in the local media. In addition, there are
new businesses that are choosing downtown and we really want
to promote downtown patronage because success breeds
success. When GB residents experience new businesses
downtown and encourage neighbors and friends to discover
these new opportunities, the momentum will continue. To sign
up and receive "What's Up Downtown", send me an email at the
link below.
Please
contact Downtown Green Bay, Inc. or Olde Main Street, Inc.
at 437-5972 if we can ever be a resource to you.
Thank you
for your leadership and commitment to Green Bay.

J. Steffek,
I was born and raised in Green Bay and graduated from Green
Bay Preble High School in 1999. I received a Bachelor’s
Degree in 2003 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Thereafter, I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and received my
law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2006.
Following graduation, I returned to Green Bay, accepting an
associate position with the law firm of Denissen,
Kranzush, Mahoney & Ewald, S.C. I primarily practice as
a defense-oriented civil litigator. My fiancé and I
recently purchased a home in Green Bay’s east side and am
looking forward to our lives in our hometown.
